Kingsport Hematology is staffed by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Registered Nurses (RN) to provide highly skilled and caring nurses throughout every phase of your treatment. Both our RNs and LPNs bring to our practice many years of experience. Please never hesitate to ask a question or express a concern to our nursing staff. Our nurses want to know if something is causing you a problem or troubling you. They want to put their experience to work.
Our practice is a strong advocate of the Oncology Nursing Certification Program. Our RNs have a strong background in acute care and cancer care but they also have completed special training in oncology as well as chemotherapy and taken that to the next level certification. This certification signifies a nurse who has developed specialty knowledge above and beyond. As cancer treatments become more complex this has become most important in providing excellence in cancer care. We require our nursing staff to be updated annually along with financially supporting our staff attending national oncology nursing meetings. Additionally, we require Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification and renewal to enable our nurses to take superior care of you should a crisis arise.
We are proud of our nurses who take wonderful care of our patients and their families. We believe they have the utmost skills, knowledge and compassion.
